The Annual John Whiteside Memorial Golf Outing will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at the Inwood Golf Course in Joliet, IL.

HONORING those veterans that were buried at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery without receiving military honors due to an inability to receive permission from relatives. This service is open to the public and is attended by many as well as by a variety of veteran organizations across the Chicago Land area. The name of each individual is read along with their rank, branch of service and military era they served in. A bell is rung for each individual when their name is read. The Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Memorial Squad performs military honors which includes: three rifle volleys, playing of TAPS, folding and presentation of the American Flag to a member of the community. A prayer is read by the Memorial Squad Chaplain and the service is concluded.

Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, our mission to Remember, Honor and Teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as over 1,400 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea, and abroad.
